Stephen Curry, of the Warriors, scores a rebound after a missed slam dunk, demonstrating his athleticism and determination.
Steph Curry Kicks Off New Season with Golden State Warriors
Steph Curry, the all-time leading NBA three-point shooter, is gearing up for his 17th season with the Golden State Warriors. The three-time NBA champion recently traveled to China for the international debut of Curry Camp and Curry Con in Chongqing, where he received a warm welcome from fans.
Despite turning 37 years old this year, Curry is showing no signs of slowing down. In the 2024-25 season, he connected on 39.7% of his three-point attempts on 11.2 attempts, maintaining his elite status in the NBA.
However, retirement is not on Curry's mind just yet. In an ABC7 News Bay Area interview, he stated that he still loves playing basketball and wakes up every day motivated to work on his craft. He is adopting a measured "two-year cycle" approach to extend his career, focusing on giving his best effort before reassessing his situation.
During Curry's camp in China, a video of a botched dunk by the basketball star went viral on social media. Curry acknowledged that he needed to redeem himself after failing to finish the dunk. But for Curry, it's all part of the game.
As Curry heads into his first full season alongside Jimmy Butler in a competitive Western Conference, fans can expect to see him continue to average 24+ points per game. The day Steph Curry hangs it up is not around the corner.
Curry and the Warriors will kick off their preseason schedule against the Lakers on October 5. With Curry's passion and dedication to continue playing at an elite level, Warriors fans have much to look forward to in the upcoming season.
