In the heart of Sprakel, Münster, a significant construction project is underway. The city of Münster will commence the redesign of Boeckmannplatz on September 15th, with the first phase of construction already completed.

During the first phase, Stadtnetze Münster GmbH installed new electricity and communication lines and connected the fountain to the water supply. Two existing bus stops at Boeckmannplatz will also be made barrier-free as part of this phase.

The redesigned Boeckmannplatz will boast a boules court, a chess field, and a fountain, offering residents and visitors new recreational spaces.

Meanwhile, construction work on Sprakeler Straße is expected to begin shortly. Upon completion of the first phase, a section of Sprakeler Straße (between Volkertweg and house number 51) will be rebuilt. However, this construction will require a six-week closure of the road, with a detour in place for motorists.

During the construction work on Sprakeler Straße, a temporary traffic light will be used to manage traffic. Pedestrians can safely pass through the construction site, while cyclists will be rerouted onto the road.

The entire construction project on Boeckmannplatz is expected to take seven months, with the entire construction project on Sprakeler Straße following suit. The full closure of Sprakeler Straße is scheduled to take place in 2026.

The city of Münster will provide separate information about the full closure of Sprakeler Straße. For updates on the construction progress and any potential disruptions, residents and visitors are advised to stay tuned to official city communications.

This project marks an exciting step forward for the development of Sprakel, Münster, and promises to enhance the quality of life for its residents and visitors alike.
