Struggling Asparagus Farm Faces Financial Ruin: Safety Measures Instituted on the Property

The Rohrkasten Farm, a prominent asparagus and strawberry farm in the Nienburg district, is facing imminent closure due to insolvency proceedings that began officially on July 1. In a creditor meeting convened by the insolvency court in Syke on August 11, attended by many farmers who had leased land from the operation, insolvency administrator Sebastian Ludolfs explained that important steering decisions, including the disposal of real estate and assets, must be decided upon by the creditors.

The affected farmers had questions about what would happen to their leased land and who would cover the high costs of disposing of the remaining asparagus foil on the fields. Ludolfs also stated that he no longer sees a continuation of the operation.

Security measures, such as police protection, were in place at the creditor meeting to protect the farm's assets. A security service is also ensuring order on the farm grounds. External companies will be commissioned for the disposal of real estate and assets. The next creditor meeting is scheduled for October 27.

The asparagus harvest was abruptly ended in May, and the strawberry harvest also ended well before its time. The aim is to prevent assets from being stolen or removed from the insolvency estate.

For those seeking to find the responsible person or company, there are several options:

  1. Amtsgericht or Insolvenzgericht: The insolvency court responsible for the Gemeinde Röhrmoos (likely the Amtsgericht Dachau) publishes the name of the appointed insolvency administrator in the "Insolvenzbekanntmachungen" portal (e.g. https://www.insolvenzbekanntmachungen.de/) or on the Bayerisches Justizportal.
  2. Local news: Larger enterprises often report on the insolvency and the appointed administrator in local newspapers (e.g. Dachauer Nachrichten, Münchner Merkur).
  3. Handelsregisterauszug: A cost-effective Handelsregisterauszug from the Unternehmensregister (http://www.handelsregister.de) may provide hints about potential changes in the management or a trustee.
  4. Direct inquiry at the court: A direct telephone inquiry at the responsible Amtsgericht (Amtsgericht Dachau) can quickly provide clarity.

For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is recommended to refer to public and current sources such as the Amtsgericht, the Handelsregister, local announcements, or special insolvency portals for cases after 2024/2025.
