Success for Gymnasium Bayreuther Straße in Bronze Competition

The Bayreuther Straße high school has been making headlines recently, not just for its academic achievements, but for its innovative approaches to sustainability. One such initiative is the use of school chickens and their eggs in a circular economy project, which is not limited to this school alone.

At Wilhelm-Dörpfeld high school, a separate yet equally impressive project has been underway. The school has implemented a circular economy initiative that involves school chickens and the reuse of cafeteria waste. The chickens' eggs are used in the cafeteria's meals, creating a closed-loop system where waste is minimised.

The idea originated from a task given to all participants: to create something new from the old. A group of students at Bayreuther Straße high school took this challenge to heart and crafted a unique Latin board game from an old skateboard and bottle caps. This creative board game, which promotes sustainable fun, has earned a bronze medal in a competition and was awarded 1,000 euros in prize money.

The board game competition, while acknowledging the innovative Latin board game, did not provide information regarding any awards won by students from Bayreuther Straße-Realschule or Wilhelm-Dörpfeld-Gymnasium for their circular use of old materials.

Meanwhile, at Wilhelm-Dörpfeld high school, the cafeteria food waste is repurposed as feed for the school chickens. This practice not only reduces waste but also contributes to the school's circular economy initiative.

In conclusion, both Bayreuther Straße and Wilhelm-Dörpfeld high schools are setting examples for sustainable practices. From innovative board games to circular economy initiatives involving school chickens, these schools are teaching their students the importance of sustainability in a fun and engaging way.
