Surprisingly, Dell and Palantir have high standings in the technology stock market.

In a series of changes, three technology companies and two other unnamed firms are set to join the S&P 500 index on September 23, while four other companies, including Dell, American Airlines Group, Bio-Rad Laboratories, and Etsy, will depart the index.

The technology companies joining the S&P 500 are Dell, Palantir, and insurer Erie Indemnity. Swiss bank UBS has given a positive analysis for Dell, citing its strong AI order book and profit margins in the Infrastructure Solutions Group sector. Meanwhile, Palantir's stock price has been on the rise due to the company's increased earnings guidance and demand for AI software, as well as its inclusion in the S&P 500.

On the other hand, the impending departures of Dell, American Airlines Group, Bio-Rad Laboratories, and Etsy from the S&P 500 have temporarily caused a dip in their share prices. Dell and Palantir's stocks have seen a positive response to the news of their inclusion in the S&P 500, with Dell up 6.3% and Palantir up 8.6%. However, Etsy and the three unnamed companies have experienced a temporary loss of around one percent.

The exact reasons for the departures of the four companies from the S&P 500 have not been disclosed.
