Suspect speaking out about Parubian's homicide case

In the Sihivskyi district of Lviv on August 30, a tragic event unfolded as Ukrainian politician Andriy Parubiy, a key figure in the "Orange Revolution" and Euromaidan, was killed. The suspect, dressed as a Glovo delivery service courier, shot Parubiy several times and then made an escape on an electric bicycle, according to reports.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced the arrest of the suspect 36 hours after the crime. Details about the suspect's movement schedule prior to the crime suggest the murder was a well-planned act. Ukrainian Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko confirmed this suspicion.

Andriy Parubiy served as the Speaker of the Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada from 2016 to 2019. Prior to his death, he had requested security, but this request was denied by the Rada, as reported.

The investigation into Parubiy's murder is ongoing, with Ukrainian General Prosecutor Ruslan Kravchenko briefing President Zelenskyy on the progress. Further investigative actions are underway to establish all the circumstances surrounding the murder.

It is reported that the passerby, after shooting Parubiy, put the gun in his bag and rode away on an electric bicycle. The search results do not currently contain any information about a suspect in the Parubiy murder case announced by President Zelenskyy or who first made a statement regarding the murder.

The suspect has since given his first statement regarding the murder, but the details of this statement have not been made public. The public and the authorities alike await more information as the investigation continues.
