Suspected thieves under scrutiny by the federal police, as per the statement from BPOLI MD
On Saturday, July 26, 2025, during a bustling football match at Halle (Saale) Central Station, a significant incident unfolded. A store detective, on duty at the time, approached Federal Police officers and accused a group of four individuals—three men aged 22, 23, and 24, along with a 25-year-old companion—of shoplifting.
The suspects had been observed by the store detective as they left a store located on Riebeckplatz, carrying stolen goods. The incident took place at the West entrance of the station.
Upon investigation, Federal Police officers found stolen goods on two of the suspects. Despite the evidence, the suspects were not arrested on the spot. Instead, they were informed of their rights and allowed to leave, pending charges of theft and organized theft.
