Sustainability Leader Chloé Leaves Position
In a heartfelt post on LinkedIn, Aude Vergne, the former chief sustainability officer of French luxury house Chloé, announced her departure from the company. Vergne expressed her gratitude to Geoffroy de La Bourdonnaye, former president of Chloé, Riccardo Bellini, former CEO, and Laurent Malecaze, current CEO, for their trust and support during her tenure.
Vergne joined Chloé in 2016, initially holding the role of fragrance, eyewear, and business development director. Her contributions to the company's sustainability efforts were significant, and she was later appointed as both the sustainability director and licenses director in October 2021.
One of Vergne's most notable initiatives at Chloé was her participation in Project Diabe, an NGO-based reforestation project in Madagascar. During her involvement with Project Diabe, Vergne provided training in communication, leadership, and project management to the managers of the reforestation initiative.
Vergne's role in Project Diabe was not her only contribution to sustainability. She oversaw Chloé's initial B Corp certification in 2021 and was involved in the B Corp recertification in 2024, which resulted in a 14 percent increase in Chloé's B Corp score.
In addition to her work at Chloé, Vergne also participated in the French program 'Conge Solidaire/Mission Solidaire'. During this program, she trained the managers of a reforestation initiative in Madagascar, Project Diabe.
Vergne expressed gratitude for the projects she led at Chloé and the people she met during her tenure. She expressed her readiness to take on new challenges and her departure leaves the position of chief sustainability officer at Chloé vacant. The successor to Aude Vergne has not been publicly announced.
