Sustainability Leadership A-List award nominations for the year 2025 are now open on our website.
The search is on for the individuals driving change within organizations and society in the Asia Pacific region, as nominations for the sixth edition of the Sustainability Leadership A-List Awards are now open.
This recognition program, which previously selected up to 10 winners for each category, aims to honour sustainability practitioners and leaders who are making a real difference. The Awards feature two categories this year: the A-List and the Youth A-List, which recognizes sustainability leaders aged 30 and below.
The judging panel for this year includes Corinna Chan, Martin Tan, Winston Chow, Esther Chang, Yoosuf Moiz, and Naomi Clark-Shen. Martin Tan, another judge, focuses on the need for nominees to be collaborative with the wider ecosystem, not just domestically, but with the regional and global community. Corinna Chan, on the other hand, emphasizes the importance of innovative project financing and rallying stakeholders to support the cause.
Last year's winners included Indigenous Kayan leader Celine Lim, Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte, and Indian start-up founder Vijay Prateik. Celine Lim is from SAVE Rivers, a non-governmental organisation that supports and empowers rural communities to protect their land rights. Vijay Prateik's company builds industrial power plants that are more efficient and cost-effective than thermal power plants.
In the Youth category, social media influencer Kong Man Jing and Oh Chu Xian, founder of Magorium, were selected as winners. Magorium is a sustainable fashion brand that uses recycled and upcycled materials to create stylish and affordable clothing.
Entries should highlight at least two key projects the nominee has worked on, along with clear evidence of measurable, real-world impact. Nominations will close on 14 March 2025, so don't miss out on your chance to shine a spotlight on the sustainability leaders in your community.
The FAQ guide and nomination submission link can be found on the official website. The Sustainability Leadership A-List Awards is a great opportunity to celebrate the individuals who are making a positive impact on the environment and society in the Asia Pacific region.
In the Philippines, Quezon City mayor Joy Belmonte banned the use of plastic, styrofoam, and other non-biodegradable packaging in government buildings following Typhoon Ketsana in 2009. This is just one example of the many sustainability initiatives being led by individuals in the region.
So, if you know someone who is making a difference, nominate them today for the Sustainability Leadership A-List Awards. Let's recognise and celebrate the sustainability leaders in our midst!
