Swatch and Omega commemorate the harvest moon by introducing a popcorn-themed Swatch watch variant
In an exciting venture, Omega and Swatch have joined forces to create the MoonSwatch, a timepiece that blends the precision of Omega's craftsmanship with Swatch's innovative design. This collaboration, named "Mission to EarthPhase - Moonshine Gold", will be available exclusively in selected Swatch boutiques starting September 8, 2025.
The MoonSwatch is a watch that challenges the conventional. Instead of the traditional moon phase cycle, the MoonSwatch features an inverted moon phase, with the full moon indicating the Earth's "new phase" and vice versa. This unique feature adds a touch of intrigue to the watch's design.
The watch, priced at 385 Euro, boasts a 42mm case, making it an ideal size for everyday wear. The marine blue surface of the case has a silky-matte finish, giving it a sophisticated yet casual look. The dial serves as a canvas for time display, with indices and hands coated with Super-Luminova that glow bright green in the dark, ensuring easy readability in any lighting condition.
At ten o'clock, the Earth phase indicator shows our planet as seen from the moon, with the oceans shimmering blue under UV light. A double moon phase indicator at two o'clock adds to the watch's astronomical appeal, with two golden full moons made from Omega's own Moonshine Gold. One of these moons features a popcorn pattern, adding a playful touch to the watch's design.
The watch is water-resistant to 30 meters, suitable for everyday use but not intended as a dive watch. The crown and pushers are integrated seamlessly into the design, ensuring a sleek and cohesive look.
The MoonSwatch's strap is made of robust Kautschuk in marine blue, with a Velcro closure and a Bioceramic loop. Bioceramic, a mix of ceramic and bio-based material derived from castor oil, is used for the case, making the MoonSwatch an eco-friendly choice.
The MoonSwatch features a precise quartz chronograph movement, ensuring accurate timekeeping. The movement controls both the time and the astronomical indicators: the Earth phase and the moon phase.
The release date for the MoonSwatch coincides with the Harvest Moon, adding another layer of cosmic charm to this unique timepiece. However, you won't be able to purchase the MoonSwatch online; it will only be available in selected Swatch boutiques.
Get ready for a lunar adventure with the MoonSwatch, a timepiece that combines innovation, style, and a touch of the cosmos. Mark your calendars for September 8, 2025, and visit your nearest Swatch boutique to secure this limited-edition collaboration.
