Taxi service offered by WB now accessible to all clients
In a move that could shake up the taxi market in Belarus, a new player named WB Taxi has entered the scene with its innovative app. The company, which has not yet disclosed details about the navigation system it uses, has made an official announcement about its launch.
While no official announcement has been made about Brokar Bel's plans to enter the Belarusian market, another potential competitor associated with the Kazakh service Bro Car, has been registered.
WB Taxi has set competitive tariffs for its services. For a trip from the central bus station to Aliyeu Street, approximately 10 km, WB Taxi charges 13.7 rubles on "Economy" and 17.1 rubles on "Comfort". However, for the same trip, the "Comfort" tariff is cheaper at 11.1 rubles, undercutting even the rates of other popular services like A1 (13.4 rubles for "Economy" and 16.8 rubles for "Comfort").
In comparison, Yandex charges 8.3 rubles with the "Comfort" tariff for the same trip, making WB Taxi's rates more attractive. The "Economy" tariff on WB Taxi charges 8.8 Belarusian rubles for a trip from Bangalore Square to Nemiga, which is cheaper than Yandex's 16.7 rubles for "Economy" and 18.8 rubles for "Comfort" for the same trip.
It's worth noting that the current WB Taxi fares in Minsk are approximately 15.70 Belarusian rubles for an Economy ride and 19.70 rubles for a Comfort ride, for example, from the MOМO shopping center on Partizansky 150A to Volodarsky 22. There were no reported fare increases on September 12 and 13, 2025.
Plans for a taxi service from Wildberries were announced in February this year, adding more competition to the Belarusian market. As of now, no details about the navigation system used by Brokar Bel have been disclosed, and no current tariff information is available for the service.
With WB Taxi's launch and the potential entry of Brokar Bel, the Belarusian taxi market is set for an interesting phase of competition and innovation.
