Viettel Showcases High-Tech Military Equipment at Military Parade
Viettel, a dual-role enterprise in Vietnam, has made a significant mark in both national digital transformation and the modernization of the armed forces. As the largest telecommunications company in Vietnam, Viettel continues to lead Southeast Asia's telecom sector while also establishing itself as the centre of Vietnam's high-tech defense industry.
During a recent military parade, Viettel unveiled a range of high-tech military equipment, all of which have been fully designed, developed, and produced by the company. This impressive display included two missile systems, multiple radar platforms, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), electronic warfare vehicles, and secure communication devices.
One of the missile systems showcased was the Trường Sơn, a comprehensive solution developed from concept to production. This missile system forms a cornerstone of Vietnam's coastal defense, capable of delivering precision strikes to safeguard maritime sovereignty. The Trường Sơn missile defense systems have only been used by the Vietnamese military.
The Trường Sơn missile system includes a command vehicle, radar, launchers, missile transport and loading vehicles, and the Sông Hồng anti-ship missile. These missiles are designed for high automation, rapid deployment, and adaptability to Vietnam's climate and terrain.
In addition to the missile system, Viettel also displayed tactical UAVs. These UAVs can detect, identify, and strike ground targets in real time, offering versatile combat support. Viettel's UAVs showcased vertical take-off and landing capabilities, advanced radar, and optical sensors, making them suitable for various missions, including border surveillance and disaster relief.
Viettel's electronic warfare vehicles, developed jointly with the Electronic Warfare Department, have the capability to jam enemy radio frequencies and protect critical operations. These vehicles reinforce airspace and maritime security by integrating seamlessly into automated command networks.
Viettel's radar portfolio includes the VRS-2DM low-altitude radar for target detection and the VRS-MRS three-coordinate radar for mid-range surveillance and guidance. Both radar systems are crucial in reinforcing airspace and maritime security.
Lastly, Viettel's personal communication devices are used by specialized units such as paratroopers, cyber forces, artillery, and engineers. The mastery of core technologies, particularly in strategic weapon systems, underscores Viettel's mission to be the nucleus of Vietnam's high-tech defense industry.
The modernized S-125-VT air defense system, another highlight of the parade, boasts superior mobility, extended range, and improved combat performance. This system, which is effective against fighter jets, UAVs, cruise missiles, and sea-based targets, was also presented at the parade.
