Temporary closure continues for Emma-Jaeger-Bad establishment
In a recent development, the Huchenfeld District Bath in Pforzheim, Germany, has announced temporary closures and adjusted opening hours due to leaks in the pool.
The leaks were discovered on Tuesday, leading to the temporary evacuation of the Emma Jaeger Bath. A structural engineer from Weber-Ingenieure confirmed the leaks, which were found to be in the pool head, causing water leakage on the outer wall. Initial damage assessments were carried out today.
Mayor Dirk Büscher stated that after a first visual inspection, they do not expect any substantial damage. More information may be known next week. Mayor Büscher also thanked the employees of the Eigenbetrieb Pforzheimer Verkehrs- und Bäderbetriebe (EPVB) for their vigilance.
During the closure, visitors are encouraged to use the two outdoor pools - Nagoldbad and Wartbergfreibad - or the indoor pool in Huchenfeld. Both outdoor pools also have a children's wading area with a sun canopy. The EPVB will immediately contact the affected schools and clubs to inform them and discuss solutions.
The Huchenfeld District Bath will be closed on Corpus Christi Day. On other days, the adjusted opening hours are as follows:
- On Friday, the bath will be open from 15:00 to 21:00, with swimmers only allowed after 19:00. On this day, it's a warm bath day with water gymnastics at 18:00.
- On Saturday, it's a family day with opening hours from 08:00 to 13:00.
- On Sunday, it's another family day with opening hours from 08:00 to 13:00.
- On Tuesday, the bath will be open from 15:00 to 21:00, with swimmers only allowed after 18:00.
- On Thursday, the bath will be open from 15:00 to 20:00, with swimmers only allowed after 18:00.
- On Monday and Wednesday, the bath will be closed.
Construction measures must be taken to determine the full extent of the damage and to make a statement about the scope of the repair measures and the duration of the closure. At the moment, no publicly available details about the precise schedule for repairs and further investigations at the Emma Jaeger Bad can be found.
The Nagold and Wartberg Outdoor Pool have daily opening hours from 09:00 to 20:00.
