Temporary Restrictions for Heavy Vehicles on Regional Roads Implemented Starting May 1

Starting from May 1, 2024, Yakutia will impose temporary restrictions on the movement of heavy goods vehicles on regional and inter-municipal roads. However, goods necessary for the elimination of the consequences of natural disasters or other emergency situations are excluded from these restrictions, according to a report by "Echo of the Capital" and confirmed by YAKUTIA.INFO.

The affected roads include those with capital and transitional types of surfacing. The restrictions are aimed at preserving roads during the spring thaw, a period when the earthen base intensely thaws.

Goods that are exempted from the restrictions include transportation of medicinal products, fuel (benzene, diesel fuel, marine fuel, jet fuel, fuel oil, gaseous fuel), food products, seed fund, fertilizers, emergency repair and maintenance materials, animals, mail and postal cargo, and transportation of seed fund.

Passenger transportation by buses is also not subject to these restrictions. Road construction and road maintenance equipment can be transported without restrictions as well.

Vehicles of federal executive bodies, in which military service is prescribed by federal law, are also exempt from the restrictions. No specific types of goods or vehicles affected by the restrictions were provided in the report.

It is worth noting that the companies VKontakte, Odnoklassniki, WhatsApp, Telegram, and Twitter are not directly related to the imposed restrictions in Yakutia.

The restrictions will affect roads in the Republic of Yakutia, a region known for its harsh climate and extreme temperatures. The regional Ministry of Transport has yet to provide information about the federal executive authorities exempted from seasonal restrictions for heavier vehicles on regional and municipal roads.
