Tems Discards Her Father's Last Name, 'Otedola', Unveils Captivating Wedding Snaps with Mr Eazi
In a romantic and culturally rich ceremony, Nigerian singer Oluwatosin Ajibade, better known as Mr Eazi, and Nollywood actress Temi Otedola exchanged vows in a private wedding in Iceland in August. The couple's love story began in a cold London night in January 2017, as Vogue Magazine narrates.
Their journey towards marriage was a long and meaningful one, with the couple waiting five years before Mr Eazi popped the question. The proposal was followed by a series of wedding celebrations across three countries.
The first event took place in Monaco on May 9, followed by a grand celebration at the Otedola family home in Dubai. The Dubai wedding felt like a vibrant Lagos night, with traditional Nigerian cuisine served and all guests, performers, and staff donning traditional Yoruba attire. King Sunny Ade was the band that provided the music for the festivities.
Before Temi walked into the church, the organist played her mother's favourite hymn, and a cloudy day miraculously turned sunny. The couple's most memorable moment was during the Dubai wedding, when Temi called Mr Eazi by all his special names, including the one his mother loved to call him.
The traditional Yoruba wedding in Lagos, Nigeria, marked the final celebration of their union. To honour Temi's late mother's Ibo heritage, the couple wore Iseleuku wedding attire for the ceremony.
Temi Otedola updated her Instagram bio to Ajibade, and she released pictures from the wedding on her Instagram page on Friday. In a separate interview with The Office Magazine, Mr Eazi revealed that he chose not to disclose that his music earnings funded his wedding to Temi Otedola.
