Tenants join WGP in a celebration

In the heart of Passau, the Sailerwoehr residential quarter recently underwent a significant transformation, thanks to the collaborative efforts of the Wohnungs- und Grundstucksgesellschaft Passau mbH (WGP) and its tenants. On August 25, 2025, the community gathered to celebrate the completion of the renovation project with a festive event.

The festival provided an opportunity for tenants to engage in discussions about important housing-related topics, fostering a sense of community within the neighbourhood. Mayor Jürgen Dupper, as the chairman of the supervisory board, was present at the event, showing his support for the project.

The renovation project, which saw around 85,000 euros invested in the inner courtyard, has demonstrated that good planning and dedicated collaboration can achieve sustainable improvements for residents. The redesigned and renovated courtyard area, realised by the landscape architecture firm LOIDL Landschaftsarchitekten, features a new covered wooden seating area with a metal roof, table tennis tables, and seating blocks, creating more living quality and opportunities for interaction.

In addition to the Sailerwoehr residential quarter, ongoing renovation measures and new apartment construction are being carried out in other locations. New apartments are being created at Fruhlingsstrasse 24, Zieglreuth 12, and Laimgrub. WGP manages a total of 1,818 apartments with a combined living area of approximately 115,000 square meters, and the average rent for WGP properties is 5.25 euros per square meter.

WGP also owns approximately 342,000 square meters of land in the city area and has 98 commercial units in its possession. The organisation is also realising an assisted living facility with the St. Johannis Hospital for approximately 50 apartments. In addition, WGP manages a student dormitory with 102 residential units.

Preparatory deep construction measures were carried out as part of the project, ensuring drainage and the newly paved sidewalks. The inner courtyard was greened and replanted, enhancing the residential quarter's overall aesthetic appeal. The renovated inner courtyard of the Sailerwoehr complex is set to be a welcoming and vibrant space for the community to enjoy.

At the festival, freshly grilled food and drinks were available, adding to the festive atmosphere. The event was a testament to the successful collaboration between WGP and the tenants, and it marked a new chapter in the history of the Sailerwoehr residential quarter.
