Novak Djokovic, the world-renowned tennis player, has reached the quarterfinals of the 2024 US Open, marking his 64th appearance in a Grand Slam quarterfinal. His latest victory came against Jan-Lennard Struff, with a score of 6-3, 6-3, 6-2.

During the match, Djokovic was visited by a trainer for treatment on his neck and shoulder. The discomfort began while he was ahead 4-0, 15-love, but he bravely continued to play. Despite the setback, Djokovic dropped two consecutive games before regaining his form.

It's worth noting that Djokovic has a formidable record against Struff, with an 8-0 win-loss record and a 10-0 head-to-head record overall. This was Struff's first attempt to reach a major quarterfinal.

Meanwhile, Djokovic's next opponent, Taylor Fritz, also secured his place in the quarterfinals. Fritz, the last American man in the U.S. Open bracket, defeated Tomas Machac with scores of 6-4, 6-3, 6-3. Fritz's impressive performance includes a previous victory over Frances Tiafoe in the previous round.

In the quarterfinals, Djokovic faced Fritz, who was the 2024 U.S. Open runner-up. Djokovic's victory over Fritz propelled him into the semifinals, where he will face Carlos Alcaraz.

Djokovic has a strong history at the US Open, having won four championships in New York. His most recent victory was in 2023. However, his road to the semifinals this year was not without challenges, as he also received treatment for a lower-back issue during the third round of the tournament and blisters on a foot during the first round.

As the tournament progresses, all eyes will be on Djokovic and Alcaraz in the semifinals, eager to see who will advance to the finals of the 2024 US Open.
