Tennis event Kirschbaum International returns to host water-based matches
The much-anticipated Meerbusch Tennis Tournament is set to return this year, promising a week filled with thrilling matches, networking opportunities, and family-friendly fun.
Organised by Marc Raffel since 2013, the tournament has established itself as a fixed fixture on the international tennis calendar. This year, the event will be part of the ITF World Tennis Tour and the exclusive DTB International, attracting numerous top players and world's top junior talents.
The tournament features a 32-player singles draw, a 48-player qualifying draw, and a 16-player doubles draw, ensuring a diverse and competitive field. In recent years, players like Alexander Zverev, Jan-Lennart Struff, Kevin Krawietz, Andreas Mies, Yannick Hanfmann, Daniel Altmaier, Francisco Cerundolo (ARG), Botic van de Zandschulp (NED), and this year, Oscar Otte will make his comeback. Marc-Kevin Goellner, Germany's Davis Cup champion, will also return to the Meerbusch tennis event after recovering from an injury and winning the German team championships.
The tournament kicks off with the qualifying draw on Sunday, August 31. Matches begin daily at 10 am from Sunday to Wednesday, and at 12 pm from Thursday to Saturday. Club Day on September 3 offers free entry for members of German tennis clubs (proof required at the box office), while Kids Day on September 2 welcomes children up to 14 years old with free entry, including one accompanying adult.
Thursday, September 4, will see the stylish ATP Business Night at the TeReMeer, becoming a networking platform from 7 pm. DJ Mister Do will provide musical accompaniment, adding to the vibrant atmosphere.
The big singles final takes place on Sunday, September 7 at 2 pm. The winner of the singles draw will receive 30 ATP ranking points.
The tournament week will also offer a variety of experiences off the court, with culinary offers, music, and a friendly festival atmosphere ensuring special experiences for all.
Finally, "Tennis & Friends" on Sunday, September 7, will feature training and tips from DTB-A trainers, a meet & greet with the finalists, live music, and a family-friendly tournament atmosphere.
With an experienced team, a diverse supporting program, and a lineup of top players, the 2025 Meerbusch Tennis Tournament promises to be an unmissable event for tennis enthusiasts and casual fans alike.
