Tennis star Alcaraz triumphs over Djokovic, securing a spot in the US Open final.
Carlos Alcaraz will play in the US Open final on Sunday, aiming to defend or claim the world No. 1 tennis ranking. The 20-year-old Spaniard will face either Italian world number one Jannik Sinner or Canadian outsider Felix Auger-Aliassime.
Alcaraz reached the US Open final for the second time, having previously won the title in 2022 against Casper Ruud. This year, he secured his spot in the final by defeating Novak Djokovic in the semifinals with a score of 6:4, 7:6 (7:4), 6:2.
Djokovic's hope for a record-breaking 25th Grand Slam title has been dashed at the US Open. Margaret Court currently holds the record for the most Grand Slam titles with 24. With a win in the US Open final, Alcaraz could reclaim the number one ranking in tennis.
Jannik Sinner and Felix Auger-Aliassime battled it out in the other semifinal, with Sinner emerging victorious. The Italian will now face Alcaraz in the highly anticipated final.
The US Open final promises to be an exciting match, with both players showcasing impressive form throughout the tournament. Fans are eagerly anticipating the clash between Alcaraz and Sinner, who will vie for the title and the No. 1 ranking.
