Novak Djokovic, the 24-time Grand Slam champion, has shown his resilience yet again, overcoming an injury scare to reach the fourth round of the U.S. Open. The 38-year-old Serbian tennis star, who is the oldest man to reach this stage of the tournament since Jimmy Connors in 1991, clinched a hard-fought victory against Cam Norrie with a score of 6-4, 6-7 (4), 6-2, 6-3.

Djokovic's road to the fourth round was not without its challenges. He tweaked his groin muscle after an awkward fall in the last game of his quarterfinal victory at Wimbledon in July. This incident marked the third time this season that Djokovic has been injured during a Grand Slam tournament, following his hamstring tear at the Australian Open in January, which forced him to retire after one set of his semifinal against Alexander Zverev.

However, Djokovic's injury history at the U.S. Open does not include the facts mentioned above. During the first set of his match against Norrie, Djokovic needed medical attention due to a back problem. He was treated and supported by ATP physio Clay Sniteman throughout the tournament, including during this match. After the medical timeout, Djokovic returned to the court and held serve to take the opening set.

Djokovic's serve was on fire during the match, hitting 18 aces, which he claimed was his best serving performance of the tournament. Despite the injury scare, Djokovovic's determination shone through, as he fought back to win the next three sets and secure his place in the fourth round.

In his post-match interview, Djokovic joked that his team wants him to suffer on the court to get more minutes of match play. However, he also assured fans that he was in good health, feeling as young and strong as ever. The veteran tennis player matched Roger Federer for the most times a player has reached the last 16 of a major tournament, marking his 69th time achieving this feat.

Djokovic's next opponent will be German qualifier Jan-Lennard Struff. The Serbian star will be looking to continue his impressive run at the U.S. Open and potentially add another Grand Slam title to his already impressive collection.
