Tennis Victory in Bottrop: Yannik Lassak and Nicole Scholz emerge triumphant at the Wilczok Cup tournament

The city of Bottrop played host to the Wilczok Cup 2025, a traditional family tennis event held in the city garden. This year's edition, sponsored by Sparkasse Bottrop, attracted a larger number of participants than the 2023 event, with 127 entries, despite a DTB license fee of 20 euros.

The tournament, competently managed by Frank Zwickl and Jörg Bucke, consisted of 14 competitions, ranging from the open category to the men's 70. Among the winners, TC Eigen-Stadtwald emerged as a dominant force, securing victories in several categories.

Yannik Lassak, representing TC Eigen-Stadtwald, clinched the Men's Singles A category, while Jens Limberg and Dragan-Simic also claimed victories in the Men's Singles 40 and 50 categories, respectively. In the Men's Doubles 30 category, the duo of Michael Altmann and Jürgen Bannasch from TC Eigen-Stadtwald also triumphed.

In the women's singles, Nicole Scholz (VfL Grafenwald) took the A category, Asya Madenbas (TC Eigen-Stadtwald) won the B category, and Jutta Larisch (TV Blau-Weiß Bottrop) emerged victorious in the 50 category. The Women's Doubles 40 category was won by Nina Bielaczek and Simone Siedlaczek from TC Eigen-Stadtwald, and Julia Lazareck and Wiebke Hamel (TV Blau-Weiß Bottrop) claimed victory in the A category.

The Women's Singles 60 category was not part of this year's tournament. However, Jörg Bucke (TV Blau-Weiß Bottrop) made up for it by winning the Men's Singles 60 category. Dieter Gaudzinski (TC Eigen-Stadtwald) secured the Men's Singles 70 category.

TV Blau-Weiß Bottrop's successful overall package, which included no additional entry fee, provided balls, and a 10-euro catering voucher for each participant, likely contributed to the increased number of entries. The tournament concluded on a high note, with an exciting final day, and Yannik Lassak winning the men's final of the Wilczok Cup.

The Wilczok Cup 2025 awarded LK points, making it an important event for tennis players in Germany. As the tournament comes to a close, tennis enthusiasts are already looking forward to next year's edition. The Wilczok Cup 2025 concluded on September 6, 2025, at TV Blau-Weiß Bottrop.
