Terrorism Investigation Concludes with Police Action
The Criminal Investigation Department of Crime Prevention and Victim Protection of the Police hosted a significant event on victim care in Solingen on August 28. The event, which took place at the VHS premises in Mummstraße, was attended by over 80 victims and witnesses.
Prior to the terrorist attack on August 23, there was already a high demand for victim protection measures. The event provided a platform for affected individuals to voice their questions and concerns, and to receive information on various aspects of victim support.
Representatives from various organisations participated in the event. These included the Criminal Police Victim Protection of the Police Wuppertal, the Criminal Investigation Departments of Düsseldorf and Wuppertal, the State Victim Protection Commissioner of North Rhine-Westphalia, Dr. Petra Viebig-Ehlert from the Federal Ministry of Justice, network partners White Ring, Accident Insurance NRW, LVR Clinic Langenfeld, Bergisches Family Center, and the emergency chaplaincy of Solingen.
During the event, affected individuals had the opportunity to discuss further or initial aid offers with respective contact persons. Information on victim protection measures, support services, psychosocial services, legal procedures, and other aid offers was provided.
