In a significant move, Tesla has expanded the selection of its popular Model 3 in the European market. The American electric vehicle manufacturer has added a new variant, the "Maximum Range with Rear-Wheel Drive" (LR RWD), to the European Model 3 program.

The LR RWD Model 3 starts at €44,990, making it an attractive option for those seeking a longer range at a competitive price. This new variant is also the most efficient Tesla ever built, boasting a certified WLTP range of 702 kilometers, a figure that seems conservative and exceeds that of the more expensive Model S.

Tesla has not left its other Model 3 variants untouched. The mid-range Model 3 with a large battery and all-wheel drive (LR AWD) has seen a price reduction of €1,500, now costing €49,990. The smallest Model 3 variant, referred to as "Rear-Wheel Drive" (RWD), has also seen a decrease in price, from €42,490 to €39,990.

The Model S, meanwhile, is listed with a WLTP range of 634 kilometers in the configurator. The now-announced range of 702 kilometers on 18-inch wheels for the LR RWD Model 3 seems to suggest that Tesla's efficiency improvements are not limited to the Model 3.

Interestingly, the tariff on Tesla's electric vehicles will be lower than initially feared, with a rate of 7.8% based on individual calculations. This is good news for Tesla customers in Europe.

In other news, negotiations between the EU and China continue for a possible alternative solution to the tariff on electric vehicles like Tesla's. The final collection is scheduled in November.

Meanwhile, the Spanish car manufacturer SEAT, a subsidiary of Volkswagen, is in final negotiations with the European Commission to lift the high import tariffs on the China-produced electric car CUPRA Tavascan. This development represents one of the parties involved in talks regarding import tariffs on electric vehicles like Tesla's.

Lastly, new Tesla customers can enjoy a €1,000 discount on Model 3 and other models using a referral code. This offer provides an additional incentive for those considering a switch to electric vehicles.
