Regional League football team SV emerged victorious in a friendly contest against SpVg. Hagen 1911 of the Westfalenliga, with a decisive 5-1 scoreline on September 4th, 2025, at the evening hour.

WSV Secures 5-1 Victory Over Hagen

The Wuppertaler SV (WSV) continued their impressive form in the Regionalliga with a 5-1 win over Hagen on Saturday.

The game started in favour of the hosts, with Vincent Schaub scoring the opening goal at around 22 meters in the 2nd minute. Fritz Kleiner then doubled the lead in the 29th minute, capitalising on a cross at the far post.

Despite dominating the game, the WSV failed to score another goal until the 29th minute. However, they made up for it in the second half, with Kleiner scoring his second and third goals in the 54th and 69th minutes respectively. Sekaki also got in on the act, scoring the fourth goal in the 58th minute.

Despite the one-sided nature of the game, Hagen managed to pull one back through Lucas Schneider in the 75th minute. However, the WSV's defence held firm in the second half, keeping a clean sheet and securing a comfortable win.

The WSV's next game is the Niederrhein Cup match against Oberligist Schwarz-Weiß Essen on 4th September 2025. The match will take place at the Stadion am Uhlenkrug, with kick-off at 7 pm. The coach of Schwarz-Weiß Essen is Dennis Czayka.

The team also has a home game against SC Wiedenbrück in the Regionalliga on 13th September, with kick-off at 2 pm at the Stadion am Zoo. The WSV will also be playing on a new artificial turf for this game.

During the second half of the game against Hagen, Aldin Dervisevic was substituted in, but he missed a penalty for the WSV, shooting over the bar in the 72nd minute. Fotios Adamidis replaced Emil Metz in goal for the second half. Daiko Kamo and Celal Aydogan also came on to replace Toshiaki Miyamoto and Schaub.
