In theaters now, "The Long Walk - Death March" brings Stephen King's chilling post-apocalyptic novel to life. Directed by Francis Lawrence, the film follows the story of a long endurance march through the American backcountry, where only one of 50 young men is meant to survive.

Set in a post-war America ruled by an authoritarian military regime, the film adaptation of King's novel under his pseudonym Richard Bachman, first released in 1979, depicts a brutal and explicit event known as the "Death March." This survival struggle is broadcast on television, with Cooper Hoffman, son of Hollywood legend Philip Seymour Hoffman, playing the character of Raymond Garraty.

Participants in the "Death March" are selected more or less voluntarily and are given three warnings before being shot if they fall behind. The goal of the march is to walk at a pace of three miles per hour (around five kilometers per hour) without stopping across the USA. There is no set finish line for the "Death March"; the last one standing wins.

The film's version of the "Death March" is led by a character named Major, played by Mark Hamill. The large cash prize and a wish granted are the rewards for the winner of the "Death March."

Throughout the film, Raymond Garraty befriends other competitors during the march, forming alliances and facing challenges together. The survival struggle becomes increasingly dangerous as the march progresses, testing the limits of human endurance and resilience.

Whether you're a fan of Stephen King or looking for a thrilling new film experience, "The Long Walk - Death March" is a must-see. Catch it in theaters now, with a release date of September 11.
