The Commission has played a role in putting together the plan for the time span of 2000-06.
On Monday, 8 September, an information event about the planned new housing area "Kalverdonk" will take place at the Erwin-Heerich House, Neusser Feldweg 4, Osterath. The event is organised by the Municipality of Wassenaar, who are coordinating the land development project.
The "Kalverdonk" housing area, spanning approximately 37 hectares, is designed as a modern residential quarter based on a sustainable concept. The plans envision five sub-quarters with diverse housing types. One of these sub-quarters is the "Nikolaus Quarter", where the first construction phase will primarily consist of multi-family houses, supplemented by row houses and a few semi-detached houses.
In this initial phase, approximately 250 apartments will be built on around 9.2 hectares. The first phase will also include the redesign of Schützenplatz, the construction of a new kindergarten, and a garage for parked cars.
It's worth noting that at least 30% of the new apartments in the "Kalverdonk" housing area will be publicly subsidized housing.
