"The Fortuna Corner establishment is forced to shut down"

In the heart of Frohburg, the Fortuna Eck has been a cherished gathering place for locals and visitors alike for over three decades. Run by Moni since 1988, this pub on the corner of Fortunastraße and Hoffeldstraße has become more than just a watering hole; it's a hub for live music, community, and fair prices.

The Fortuna Eck opens its doors six days a week from 3 pm, often staying open late for events. A visit to this establishment will cost you 1.30 euros for an old beer, 1.50 euros for a cola, and 2.50 euros for a Killepitsch.

Moni, the pub's long-standing owner, is content with her decisions and would not change a thing if given the chance. At 70 years old, she plans to continue behind the bar for another one or two years.

However, the Fortuna Eck's future is uncertain. The old landlord sold the house two years ago, and the new owner intends to double the rent. This increase is a challenge Moni cannot afford, and the fate of the pub hangs in the balance.

Moni's regulars, including Monique, are rallying to support the Fortuna Eck. Monique describes the pub as a punk-rock 'n' roll underground venue, reminiscent of the Ratinger Hof. A painter and a wine merchant from the neighbourhood have even written a letter to the new house owner in support of Moni and the Fortuna Eck.

"We don't want to just let the Fortuna Eck disappear into the hands of shark investors," Monique says defiantly. Others are considering starting a petition to support Moni and the Fortuna Eck.

Moni is more reserved but also thinks that you shouldn't just take everything lying down regarding the rent increase. She occasionally provides food and delayed payments for struggling artists, showing her dedication to the local arts community.

Someone called the pub to ask if they could help in any way in support of Moni and the Fortuna Eck. Moni, who enjoys her job and is well-liked by the guests, is grateful for the outpouring of support.

As the fight to save the Fortuna Eck continues, one thing is clear: this pub is more than just a business; it's a cherished part of the community, and its loss would be felt deeply. The decision regarding the pub's future lies with its owner or the person responsible, but the community is united in their determination to keep the Fortuna Eck alive.
