In September, Axel Springer is set to launch the seventh German-language product, the pro-newsletter "Energie & Klima". This move is a consistent continuation of internationalization and digital media leadership for Axel Springer, and a significant step in the growth of Politico in Germany.

The newly formed political department of the Premium Group aims to become one of the largest political newsrooms in Germany, with over 40 specialists. Gordon Repinski, who oversees his editorial team of approximately twenty people from his office on the sixth floor of the Axel-Springer high-rise, will lead this expansion.

Repinski's goal is to make Politico the best political newsroom in Germany, similar to its achievements in Brussels and Washington. He believes that a professional in their field cannot get around Politico.

The reporters of Politico are expected to grow with the brand, allowing Repinski to continue in his role as before. Jürgen Klöckner and Claudia Kade are the two deputy editors-in-chief under Repinski, representing him in the KC Politics.

Politico journalism is characterized by strict non-partisan journalism, an international perspective on German politics, a focus on readers and listeners, and a concise, humorous, and understandable language. The Playbook podcast, oriented towards the needs of readers and listeners, is a perfect complement to the newsletter.

Reporters from Politico are often found at many events in Berlin, interested in what's whispered in the corridors and what's written in strategy papers and what's said in interim remarks in Bundestag debates. This keen interest and dedication to uncovering the truth have earned Politico a reputation as a trusted source of political news.

The creation of the KC Politics competence center at Axel Springer has been completed, with Repinski overseeing both the Politico and Die Welt domestic politics teams. This merger will allow for increased collaboration and better content distribution between the two brands.

Despite the merger, both Die Welt and Politico brands will continue to exist and publish separately. Repinski expects to see the names of Politico journalists under Welt articles and vice versa, as the journalistic forms complement each other.

Politico's business model has proven reliable in all the countries it has expanded to. The editorial offices are reorganized and combined in competency centers, with the Welt Group leading the "Competency Center for Moving Images and Debate", the "Business Insider" editorial team and the economic editorial team of "Welt" forming the "Competency Center for Economy", and Repinski leading the "Competency Center for Politics".

Repinski is open to hiring passionate and hungry journalists who fit well with the team and the publishing house, with a focus on teamwork and growth within the brand. As Politico continues to expand, it is poised to become a major player in the German political journalism landscape.
