The Rugby Team, Foxes, is relocating to Potsdam for their World Cup match versus Wetzlar.

In an exciting turn of events, German handball champions Füchse Berlin will play their first cup match of the season on October 1st, not in their home venue Max-Schmeling-Halle, but in the MBS Arena in Potsdam. This move is significant as it allows for a reunion between Füchse Berlin and two of their former players, David Cyrill Akakpo and Josip Simic.

The partnership between Füchse Berlin and 1. VfL Potsdam, who faced relegation to the second division after just one season in the previous campaign, has facilitated this unique opportunity. The cooperation aims to demonstrate Füchse Berlin's support for their partner club and to strengthen their presence in Brandenburg.

Akakpo and Simic, who previously played for 1. VfL Potsdam, will be returning to the Brandenburg capital for the cup match. However, they will be playing for league rivals HSG Wetzlar, not as part of their previous tenure with 1. VfL Potsdam. The team's coach is Jaron Siewert.

The match, scheduled for 7:00 PM, will be a reunion of sorts, as Akakpo and Simic played for Potsdam last season. The opponents for the first cup match are HSG Wetzlar, and both Akakpo and Simic will be lining up against Füchse Berlin.

Füchse Berlin's managing director, Bob Hanning, expressed excitement about expanding into the Brandenburg region, hoping to make this a great handball event and celebrate a "handball festival" together with 1. VfL Potsdam. This partnership promises to bring a new dynamic to the German handball scene and create unforgettable moments for fans of both teams.
