'The Third Day's Box Office Collection of 'The Conjuring: Last Rites' with Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga is approaching the ₹45 crore milestone'
The supernatural horror film, The Conjuring: Last Rites, directed by Michael Chaves, has made a strong start in its theatrical run, but shows signs of a slowing momentum as it heads into the weekdays.
Released in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu, the film stars Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga reprising their roles as Ed and Lorraine Warren. Mia Tomlinson and Ben Hardy also feature in the film, which is based on the true-life Smurl haunting.
On its third day, the English version of the film performed best, with varying occupancy levels throughout the day. Morning shows saw an occupancy of 36.39%, while afternoon shows managed to boost the numbers to 60.95%. Bengaluru reported a 63.5% occupancy for the English version, while Kolkata and Chennai saw even higher numbers, with 66% and 77.5% occupancy respectively. However, Hyderabad had the lowest turnout for the English version, with only 5% occupancy on Day 3.
The film opened strongly, collecting ₹17.5 crore on both Friday and Saturday. But on Sunday, collections took a 40% dive, with the English version earning ₹9.98 crore, followed by Hindi with ₹6.2 crore. This drop in collections may indicate slowing momentum as it heads into the weekdays.
The film's total opening weekend collection stands at ₹44.98 crore. It is the ninth instalment in The Conjuring Universe and serves as a sequel to The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It (2021).
In other news, a trailer for The Nun 2 has been released, revealing Taissa Farmiga's return to The Conjuring universe. This could be an exciting development for fans of the franchise, as they eagerly await the next instalment.
