The thriving football camp of VfL Neuwied is undeniably a triumph in the sporting world
During the summer holidays, VfL Neuwied organised a three-day football camp at their training ground in Heddesdorf, Bimsstraße. The event was a significant success, attracting over 60 children and young people.
The camp was made possible through cooperation with the Neuwied Children and Youth Office (KiJub) and funding from the federal promotion programme "Movement, Health, and Culture" - also known as the Future Package. This programme, which aims to promote sports, health, and culture, played a crucial role in making the camp a reality.
The "child-friendly municipality" of Neuwied was also involved in the organisation of the camp, demonstrating their commitment to engaging young people in community activities. Francesco Trovato, a children and youth representative in the Neuwied Future Committee, contributed significantly to the ideas, planning, and implementation of the camp.
The camp was not just about playing football. Each young footballer received an honorary certificate at the end of the three days, recognising their participation and efforts. Moreover, the German Football Association's football badge was awarded during the camp, providing a special moment for the participants.
Six B-junior players of VfL, club chairman Klaus Dillenberger, and coaches Peter Kröner and Patrick Severin also worked tirelessly to ensure the camp was successful. Their dedication and hard work were instrumental in making the event a memorable one for the young participants.
Mayor Peter Jung expressed his gratitude to all involved for their voluntary efforts in making the three-day holiday camp a success. He praised the spirit of cooperation and the commitment shown by everyone involved in organising the event.
The football camp was a resounding success, providing a fun and engaging environment for local youth to develop their football skills and make new friends. It was a testament to the power of community spirit and the importance of supporting young people in their pursuits.
