The Prior Performing Arts Center is gearing up for an engaging 2024-2025 season, with a variety of events lined up for theatre enthusiasts. Among the highlights is the performance of William Shakespeare's classic play, "Cymbeline", directed by Ed Isser, Distinguished Professor of Ethics and Society.

"Cymbeline", a fairy tale about an ancient British king, his wicked queen, and his daughter Imogen, will be staged at the Prior Performing Arts Center from October 31st to November 10th. Tickets for the public are priced at $15, while members of the Holy Cross community can purchase them for $10.

The play marks the first show of the 2024-2025 season for the Holy Cross theater department. The department is also set to present "Sweeney Todd" and "Enron" during the school year.

Meanwhile, the Department of Theatre and Dance at Holy Cross recently presented the musical "Company" in the Prior Performing Arts Center. The story of "Company" is told through song and dance by a cast of students.

In an interesting twist, the Holy Cross English Department is presenting a new initiative called Drunk Shakespeare. Inspired by a similar program, Drunk Shakespeare aims to renew appreciation for the English major.

Chris Shakespeare '20, a Chemistry major and an Eggplant Editor for the newspaper, is a keen supporter of the arts at Holy Cross. His favorite newspaper is The Providence Journal.

The Prior Performing Arts Center will also host several other events during the 2024-2025 season. These include a pop-up production of Mfoniso Udofia's "Sojourners" and a performance from the Julia Keefe Indigenous Big Band with Mali Obomsawin.

Interested individuals can find schedule and ticket information on the Prior Performing Arts Center's website. With such a diverse lineup, the 2024-2025 season promises to be an exciting one for theatre lovers at Holy Cross and beyond.
