Thief apprehended in the act of breaking and entering
In a series of events that unfolded early Thursday morning, two suspects were arrested at the scene of a break-in at a bakery in Vlothoer Straße. The first patrol car arrived at the scene shortly after a call reporting suspicious noises, and upon arrival, they spotted a person inside the shop.
The search of the shop led to the apprehension of two suspects - a 35-year-old man and a 38-year-old man. Both suspects were taken to the police custody in Minden and processed.
Initial findings suggest that nothing was stolen from the convenience store, which is located in the same building as the bakery. However, investigators are examining a possible connection between the convenience store break-in and the previous bakery break-in.
A man was seen fleeing from the back of the building during the initial inspection, and the officers pursued him on foot, managing to apprehend and overpower him despite his resistance.
The older suspect, the 38-year-old man, will be released from police custody later on Thursday after the completion of the police measures. The status of the 35-year-old suspect is currently unclear, as an application for a warrant for his arrest was submitted at the request of the Public Prosecutor's Office in Bielefeld, and a request for a warrant is currently being processed.
