Thousands of young individuals commence employment at Deutsche Bahn

Deutsche Bahn, Germany's national railway company, has announced an extensive training programme for over 5,700 young individuals this year. The initiative covers a wide range of rail professions, aiming to provide the best training conditions and long-term prospects for its young talent.

Martin Seiler, the Personnel Director at Deutsche Bahn, expressed pride in attracting many young talents and emphasized the importance of motivation and commitment to the company's sustainable success. He stated, "We are committed to providing our young talent with the skills and knowledge they need to excel in their careers."

The training will commence in September and take place at Deutsche Bahn's 33 training centres nationwide. Approximately 1,000 young people will begin training as traffic controllers (train dispatchers), a role that involves working in signal boxes, setting switches and signals to navigate trains through the rail network.

In addition, around 800 young people will be trained as train drivers, while approximately 800 will be trained as electronics technicians in operations. The company will also enrol approximately 100 young people in the top dual study programme in civil engineering, and around 90 in electrical engineering.

The training programmes in civil engineering, electrical engineering, and railway construction are offered by Deutsche Bahn AG itself, often in cooperation with professional engineering chambers or technical academies specializing in construction and infrastructure. These programmes include practical training and certification required to work on Deutsche Bahn-related projects.

Furthermore, the top dual study program in railway engineering will enrol approximately 70 young people. This prestigious programme offers a unique blend of theoretical and practical training, providing students with a comprehensive understanding of the railway industry.

The welcoming events for the new recruits will take place on Monday, marking the start of an exciting journey for the young talents embarking on their careers with Deutsche Bahn. Seiler concluded, "We look forward to welcoming our new recruits and supporting them in their careers with Deutsche Bahn."
