Three models are applicable for assessing celestial expanse

The watch world eagerly awaits the arrival of the TAG Heuer Carrera Astronomer, set to be available from October 2025. This new timepiece is the result of nine years of dedicated research and development by the TAG Heuer team, promising a modern reinterpretation of the moonphase complication with a distinctive aesthetic.

Three Unique Versions

The Carrera Astronomer will debut with three variants, each with its own unique charm. The classic stainless steel model boasts a silver dial and black bezel, while the Two-Tone Edition features indices, hands, and middle links of the stainless steel bracelet in 18k 5N Rose gold. A limited edition with turquoise accents completes the lineup, offering a futuristic twist with Super-Luminova in glowing turquoise.

Precision and Functionality

At the heart of the Carrera Astronomer lies the automatic caliber 7 (base Sellita SW385-1), beating at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and offering a power reserve of 56 hours. The watch's lunar phase display, a hallmark of this timepiece, uses a rotating disc system to show seven lunar stages over a 29.5-day cycle, advancing every day at one a.m. and remaining accurate to within one day for over a century.

A Rich History of Innovation

TAG Heuer has a long-standing history of experimenting with lunar phases and calendar watches, dating back to the 1940s and 1950s. This tradition continues with the Carrera Astronomer, which, like the original Carrera designed by Jack Heuer in 1963 for the racetrack, embodies a minimalistic, legible, and functional design.

Distinctive Aesthetics

The Carrera Astronomer's case, measuring 39 millimeters in stainless steel, features a domed sapphire crystal, prominent horns, and 100 meters of water resistance. The watch's case back bears an engraved observatory motif, a nod to its focus on lunar phases and precision.

Availability and Pricing

The classic stainless steel version of the Carrera Astronomer will be priced around 4,450 euros, while the Two-Tone Edition, limited to 500 pieces, will retail for approximately 6,900 euros. The limited edition with turquoise accents will also be limited to 500 pieces and will cost around 4,350 euros. Each model will come with either a stainless steel or bi-color bracelet, or a grey leather strap with a security folding clasp.

The TAG Heuer Carrera Astronomer marks a new chapter in the Carrera's history, focusing on lunar phases and precision. With its modern design and high-precision mechanism, it promises to be a standout addition to any watch collection.
