In a controversial move, the Israeli government has announced a strategy for dealing with activists, including Greta Thunberg, involved in the current Gaza-bound flotilla. This strategy involves detaining activists under conditions similar to those used for terrorists, specifically in the Kziot and Damon facilities.

The flotilla, organised by the Global Sumud Flotilla, is the largest of all previous ones and includes ships with activists, medics, crews, and journalists from 44 countries. The humanitarian fleet voyage to Gaza, initiated by the Gaza Flotilla, aims to deliver aid to Gaza residents, break the illegal blockade imposed by Israel, and open a humanitarian corridor.

Greta Thunberg, the young climate activist, had previously sailed to Gaza in June, only to be expelled from Israel in the early hours of June 9. However, this did not deter her from attempting another voyage, which set sail on August 31.

The Spanish government is taking active steps to protect its citizens participating in the flotilla. They have stated they will use diplomatic and consular means to safeguard their citizens, following similar actions taken during Thunberg's previous trip.

It is important to note that the flotilla is recognised as extremist and banned in Russia. The conditions in the Kziot and Damon facilities, where the Israeli government plans to detain flotilla activists, including Thunberg, under harsh conditions, include no television and no quality food.

The flotilla is expected to arrive in Gaza in seven or eight days. As the situation unfolds, the international community continues to watch closely, with hopes for a peaceful resolution and the successful delivery of much-needed aid to the residents of Gaza.
