Timeless Favorites: Nars' Radiant Foundation and Concealer Embrace Ideal of 'Authentic Beauty'
Nars Shines at London Fashion Week A/W 2025
François Nars, the renowned makeup artist and founder of the cosmetics brand, has once again made a significant impact at London Fashion Week. His work was showcased in Erdem's A/W 2023 show, where the Multiple highlighter stick by Nars was used to give models an almost perspiratory sheen.
Nars has a rich history of collaborative product collections with various designers. In addition to his recent collaboration with Erdem, there is a possibility of a project with a third London designer in the works.
The installation at London Fashion Week, named The Players Lounge, showcases Nars' Natural Radiant Longwear Foundation and Radiant Creamy Concealer, which are part of the holy trinity for creating natural-looking makeup.
Nars' journey in the world of makeup began in the South of France, where he honed his skills by practicing on his mother and grandmothers. He attended the prestigious Carita Institute in Paris to further his skills.
François Nars' 'big break' came during the 1980s when he worked with legendary fashion editor Polly Mellen. Since then, he has collaborated with brands like Kane and Erdem on limited-edition product edits. His latest tribute collection, The Claudette Collection, was created in honour of his mother.
Nars' collaboration with Marc Jacobs is another highlight of his career. He keyed the makeup for Marc Jacobs' S/S 1993 show, which helped launch Jacobs' career, and they continue to work together to this day. The grunge movement's lived-in nonchalance was beautifully captured in the makeup for Marc Jacobs' S/S 1993 show.
In a shoot for the March 2025 issue, Claire Urquhart used Nars to transform a model into six visual interpretations of intoxicating perfumes. Ten years ago, at Christopher Kane A/W 2015, Lucia Pieroni used the Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser by Nars for the models' makeup.
The Nars Players Lounge, open from 22 - 23 February 2025 between 11am and 6pm at The Stables Unit X, 40 Earlham Street, WC2H 9LH, is a must-visit for makeup enthusiasts during London Fashion Week A/W 2025. The installation features the latest products from Nars, showcasing the brand's commitment to natural, radiant beauty.
