Timepieces transformed by M.A.D. Editions and Yinka Ilori: Artful craftsmanship on display
The M.A.D.1S "Grow Your Dreams" watch collaboration, initiated by the organisation Grow Your Dreams, has been unveiled in a vibrant display of colours. This collection, consisting of three limited editions – Sun, Nature, and Water – offers an innovative approach to timekeeping and storytelling.
Each variant in this collection is limited to 400 pieces and boasts unique features. The Sun variant, with its purple display, yellow rotor, and yellow-green rubber strap, is a radiant representation of the sunrise. The Nature variant, on the other hand, features a red display, a green rotor, and a purple-red strap, evoking the colours of nature. The Water variant showcases a light blue display, a blue rotor, and a two-tone blue strap, symbolising the serene beauty of the ocean.
All straps in the collection feature leaf engravings and are colour-mixed, adding a touch of elegance to the watches. The Rotoe, made of titanium with a filigree tree motif, shimmers in vibrant yellow, green, or blue through anodization, depending on the variant. The rotor leaves also add an element of dynamism to the watches.
To ensure additional glow in the dark, Super-Luminova has been used on the M.A.D.1S "Grow Your Dreams" watch. The bezel, a first for the collection, is made of HyCeram, a heat-treated liquid ceramic, enhancing the watch's durability and aesthetics.
Maximilian Büsser, the founder of MB&F M.A.D.Editions, describes the collaboration as a burst of colours that drives one to realize their dreams. Yinka Ilori, the London-born designer with Nigerian roots, who has previously collaborated with brands like Adidas, Nike, Lego, and the British healthcare system, has expertly brought this vision to life.
Registration for the M.A.D.1S "Grow Your Dreams" watch remains open until September 8, 2025. The rest of the watches will be allocated through a lottery-like system, ensuring a fair distribution among the MB&F community. The price of the watch is approximately €3,400.
This collection is more than just a timepiece; it's a testament to the power of dreams and the beauty of diversity. Each variant tells its own story in colours, inviting the wearer to embark on a unique journey with every glance at their wrist.
