Titanic-style adventure unfolds on Lake Constance, evoking memories of bygone days
The historic paddle steamer "Hohentwiel," built in 1913 by Escher-Wyss in Zurich, will set sail on a four-hour journey from the historic old town of Lindau for a unique Titanic-themed dinner on June 13 of the following year.
Andreas Dragone, an IT manager with a passion for old ships and the golden age of travel, has planned this extraordinary event. Guests are invited to immerse themselves in the elegance of the Titanic era, with a 4-course menu and live music from the same period.
Each guest will receive a memento of the evening, including exclusive photos, a video, a replica of historical boarding papers (including a boarding card, menu card, and time documents). For those who wish to fully embrace the ambiance, costumes can be rented for the occasion.
Formal attire in the style of the era is required, with men asked to wear a tuxedo or black dinner jacket, and women encouraged to don elegant evening dresses.
About a third of the total 80 cards for the Titanic Dinner have already been sold. For those interested in attending, the deadline for registration is set for March 2026.
Andreas Dragone has also created a Facebook group to keep attendees updated about the event and share background information. If you're a fan of the Titanic and the golden age of travel, this is an event not to be missed.
For those who can't make it to the Titanic Dinner, there are other opportunities to experience the Titanic exhibition. The exhibition can be visited at the EXPO-Hall in Hamburg until 2 November 2025, at the Lokschuppen exhibition center in Rosenheim until 6 January 2026, or starting 31 October 2025 at the Metropolis Hall in Filmpark Babelsberg in Potsdam.
It's worth noting that while Andreas Dragone is not specifically mentioned in the search results as organizing or planning an event on the "Hohentwiel" on Lake Constance in June 2024, the ship itself is a historic paddle steamer operated by Historische Schifffahrt Bodensee as a venue for various events such as weddings and corporate events.
Lastly, Andreas Dragone's wife works as a sales assistant in a lingerie store, and the couple is known for their love of historical clothing, with a 15-square-meter walk-in closet full of historical clothing.
