Today commences the summer initiative, "One City for All," in the local marketplace
On the 12th and 19th of July, 2025, our city will be hosting the CITYschmeckt event, a time for a little coziness on the market square. This event, which is a partnership between our city and freiRaum, brings together various project partners including citizens, artists, and the city.
The CITYschmeckt event will take place from 10 am to 2 pm, and will feature a vibrant mix of gastronomy, music, and interactive activities. The Osteria reBelot will be a part of the event, and a wooden hut will be permanently placed in the market square for catering and storage purposes.
Each individual retailer/gastronomer is welcome to connect to the events on the market square and offer their own services. This creates a colorful variety of food, as individual contributions come together to form a shared potluck. Everyone is invited to bring food for the CITYschmeckt event, whether it's homemade, a specialty, or a little surprise.
The CITYschmeckt event is not directly related to the "Ab in die Mitte" project, which began on July 10, 2025, and lasts until August 14, 2025. However, the first part of the "Ab in die Mitte" festival features an Art Action with Nino Bal on July 10, 2025, from 5 - 8 pm. As part of this art action, an old car, sponsored by Glinicke, will be transformed into a work of art.
The Art Action with Nino Bal will also include music and interactive activities, as well as visitors bringing their favorite old songs to be redesigned. Nino Balkhamishvil is a project partner for this art action.
The CITYschmeckt event is more than just a gastronomic event. It's a shared potluck offering an opportunity for community, good food, and nice conversations. So, mark your calendars and join us on the 12th and 19th of July, 2025, for a little coziness in our city.
