In the past week, Cortland County witnessed a flurry of activity in its residential real estate market, with a total of 15 properties changing hands. The average sale price stood at $194,067, while the average price per square foot was a steady $96.

On Aug. 5, two significant sales were recorded. The property at 25 Broadway Ave. in Cortland was sold for $186,000, boasting a price per square foot of $115. Meanwhile, a house at 1078 Muckey Road in Lapeer found a new owner for $170,000.

The following day, Aug. 6, saw the sale of a house at 1208 State Route 392 in Virgil for $93,500, and a single-family home at 301 Tim Hill Road in Marathon for $170,000.

The most expensive sale of the week was a house in Cortlandville, located at 1187 Hillside Drive, which was sold for $372,000. However, there is no information available about the owner of this villa or the sale itself.

Another notable sale was a 2,160-square-foot detached house at 5030 Lincklaen Road in Cuyler, which was sold for $250,000 on Aug. 7, equating to a price per square foot of $116.

Elsewhere in the county, a house at 26 Grove St. in Marathon was sold for $140,000 on Aug. 6, and a property at 2199 State Route 215 in Virgil was sold for $169,000 on Aug. 4.

The list includes sales of houses with various living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms. For example, the house at 1208 State Route 392 boasts 1,353 square feet, 3 bedrooms, and 1 bathroom.

In a surprising turn, the single-family house at 6866 Truxton Tully Road in Truxton was sold for $355,000 on Aug. 1, making it the most expensive sale recorded earlier in the week, with a price per square foot of $213.

It's important to note that the prices in the list include real estate sales where the title was recorded during the week of Aug. 23, even if the properties may have been sold earlier.
