Popular destinations for Latvian travellers this summer include the traditional favourites such as London, Helsinki, Oslo, Stockholm, and Tallinn. However, there's also a growing interest in lesser-known destinations like Montenegro and Albania.

For those seeking a change from the Mediterranean, the Norwegian fjords are currently popular due to the midnight sun. Further afield, Spain and Greece remain popular destinations for longer trips, but there's a growing demand for long-haul travel, including to Argentina and New Zealand.

Cruise holidays are becoming increasingly popular among Latvian residents, with prices becoming more affordable. The average price for a cruise per night starts at 65 euros per person, including meals, entertainment on board, and a cabin.

By summer 2023, passengers can fly from Riga to 80 destinations. The number of flights at Riga Airport is increasing in the summer, making it easier for travellers to find flights to their preferred destinations.

European rivers are also popular, and when it gets colder, people head to the Arab Emirates due to direct flights from Riga. The United Kingdom, Germany, Finland, Spain, Italy, Turkey, and Egypt are the most popular countries for Latvian travellers this summer.

Since 2022, the aviation industry has seen a 20% increase in airfares due to the full-scale war in Ukraine. Despite this, sufficient competition in the leisure segment ensures attractive last-minute offers for Latvian travellers.

As of May 2023, Riga Airport has served 2.7 million passengers, with the number expected to grow as the summer travel season kicks off. With a wide range of destinations, travel options, and flight deals, it's an exciting time for Latvian travellers to plan their summer adventures.
