Tragic bus collision in Bonn leaves senior citizen fatally injured
In the heart of Bonn city centre, a tragic incident occurred on August 21, 2025, at approximately 14:15. A 74-year-old pedestrian was struck by a city bus at the Central Bus Station (ZOB).
The elderly man stepped onto the road from a bus stop and, after being hit by the bus, fell to the ground, sustaining a head wound. The injured individual was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment.
The Bonn Police are currently investigating the exact cause of the accident. Traffic Commission 1 of the Bonn Police is handling the investigation, though the name of the head of this commission has not been disclosed.
In the early hours of Friday (22.08.2025), the 74-year-old was transferred to another clinic for intensive care. However, sadly, the individual passed away on Friday due to the head injuries sustained in the accident.
