Train Journey of Honor, Bharat Gaurav, to Provide 12-Day Spiritual Pilgrimage Visit to Seven Jyotirlingas, Announces Indian Railways
The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced an exciting new travel package for a jyotirlingas tour in November 2025. The Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train will embark on a 12-day pilgrimage journey, starting from Yog Nagri Rishikesh Railway Station on November 18.
This train, designed to accommodate up to 767 passengers, offers three categories of accommodation: Comfort (49 berths), Standard (70 berths), and Economy (648 berths). Seat and berth allocations will be finalised one to two days before the journey. Solo travellers will share accommodation with other single passengers in the same category.
The itinerary includes visits to seven jyotirlinga temples: Omkareshwar, Mahakaleshwar, Nageshwar, Somnath, Trimbakeshwar, Bhimashankar, and Grishneshwar. Along the way, travellers will also stop at other significant religious sites, including the Dwarkadhish Temple and Bet Dwarka.
The package covers the train journey, accommodation, meals, travel insurance, and the services of tour escorts and IRCTC tour managers. However, it's important to note that the package does not cover entrance fees to monuments or temples, sightseeing not mentioned in the itinerary, local guide charges, tips, personal expenses, or any services not specifically listed under the inclusions.
The train journey will commence from Yog Nagri Rishikesh, with multiple boarding points along the route. Major halts on the journey include Ujjain, Dwarka, Veraval, Nashik Road, Khadki, and Aurangabad. At Ganga Sagar, standard and superior category passengers will have access to multi-sharing dormitory facilities for freshening up.
Final train timings will be confirmed two days before departure. It's also worth noting that the train will only run if the required minimum number of bookings is reached. Passengers will have to carry a valid voter ID or Aadhaar card, along with proof of full COVID-19 vaccination, for boarding.
Prices begin at INR 24,100 per person, with a concession of nearly 33% offered under the Bharat Gaurav Train scheme. This affordable price makes the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train an attractive option for those seeking a spiritual journey.
However, it's important to consider the environmental impact of religious tourism in India, which has led to concerns such as water pollution, deforestation, and habitat loss. Travellers are encouraged to respect the local environment and follow sustainable practices during their journey.
In conclusion, the Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train offers an exciting opportunity for a spiritual journey to the jyotirlinga temples in November 2025. With its comfortable accommodations, comprehensive package, and affordable prices, it promises to be a memorable experience for all who embark on this pilgrimage.
