Train services between Mumbai and Surat are disrupted due to a technical fault affecting Western Railway operations between Boisar and Vangaon.

On August 30, 2025, a technical issue in the overhead line between Boisar and Vangaon on the Mumbai to Surat train route disrupted services for several trains operated by Western Railway.

The affected trains include the Bandra Terminus-Bhuj Kutch Express at Palghar, Mumbai Central-Surat Flying Ranee Express at Palghar, Dahanu Road local trains at Boisar Station and Kelve Road station, Mumbai Central-Amritsar Golden Temple Mail at Saphale, Trivandrum-Hazrat Nizamuddin Rajdhani Express at Vasai Road, Mumbai Central-Jaipur Express, Bandra Terminus-Bhavnagar Express, and Daund-Indore Express.

Western Railway has expressed regret over the inconvenience caused and appealed for cooperation from passengers during the ongoing restoration efforts. Passengers are advised to check for updates before traveling as further delays and cancellations are expected in the coming hours.

Help desks have been set up at Vasai Road, Dahanu Road, Palghar, Boisar, and Surat stations to guide and update passengers about their long-distance train services. The problem has caused the regulation of numerous trains, both long-distance and suburban, on the Down direction from Mumbai towards Surat. Train movement on the Down line from Mumbai side towards Surat has been affected.

No new information about the date of the disruption or the help desks set up at various stations has been provided. Further information regarding the restoration timeline and the resumption of services will be provided by the authorities as the situation progresses.

Western Railway engineers are currently working to resolve the technical fault on the overhead equipment between Boisar and Vangaon stations. The affected trains were cancelled, including the 93042 Dahanu Road - Virar Local ex Dahanu Road at 22.45 hrs.

The railway has suggested that travelers consider alternate routes and stay in touch with local stations for real-time updates. The announcement was made in an official post on X at 8:58 PM on Saturday.

Passengers are advised to exercise patience and adhere to the guidance provided by the railway authorities for a smooth resumption of services. Western Railway will continue to work diligently to restore normal operations as soon as possible.
