Training Award Secured by SIS for Outstanding Learning and Development Achievements (Princess Royal)

Sports Information Services (SIS) has been honoured with the prestigious Princess Royal Training Award, in recognition of their exceptional LEADERship Programme. The award, launched in 2016 by the City & Guilds Foundation, recognises organisations with outstanding training programmes that lead to exceptional company results.

The LEADERship Programme, a collaboration between SIS and training consultancy firm Co-Creation, has been running for the last five years. The programme focuses on areas such as confidence building, delegation, presenting, and encouraging cross-department engagement. SIS invests in a comprehensive range of skills development activities for delegates across the 12-month programme.

Gail Haworth, Head of HR Business Partnering at SIS, expressed her delight, stating that graduates from the LEADERship Programme have progressed impressively over the last five years, taking on more responsibilities and genuine leadership roles within the business. She added that receiving the Princess Royal Training Award, especially in the special tenth anniversary award year, underscores SIS's commitment to creating high-quality training initiatives and fostering a culture of learning that empowers individuals to thrive.

Kath Thomas at Co-Creation has expressed pride in seeing the LEADERship programme receive such a prestigious accolade. Keith Stopforth at Co-Creation has stated that co-creating the LEADERship Programme journey with the SIS team over the last five years has been a privilege. He also expressed that it has been inspiring to watch so many individuals grow into confident, capable leaders making real impact across the business.

The award ceremony will take place later this year. The recipients of the award were announced on Friday, 15 August. Kath Thomas' statement about the award for the LEADERship programme is a testament to the long-term investment in people by SIS and their belief in the power of purposeful development.

The City & Guilds Foundation, alongside HRH The Princess Royal, recognised the programme following a rigorous application process. The master classes equip individuals with the necessary skills to take their next step within the company, making the LEADERship Programme a valuable asset to both SIS and its employees.

This recognition is a significant milestone for SIS and a testament to their commitment to fostering a culture of learning and development. The Princess Royal Training Award is a beacon of excellence in the training industry, and SIS's LEADERship Programme is a shining example of what can be achieved when organisations prioritise the growth and development of their employees.
