Tram Driver Assaulted in Bremen's Geteviertel

In an unfortunate incident, a tram driver in Bremen, Germany, was attacked on Friday evening. The assault took place around 10 PM at the Kirchbachstraße stop on line 4 in the Geteviertel area.

According to the Bremen Police, the tram driver was approached from behind by two unknown teenagers who were riding an e-scooter. One of the suspects attempted to snatch the tram driver's briefcase, while the other punched him in the face when he held onto it.

The 46-year-old tram driver fought back and managed to hit one of the attackers with his elbow. Despite his efforts, he sustained facial injuries that required hospital treatment.

The suspects, described as being between 15 and 17 years old, fled the scene using the rented e-scooter. One of them was wearing a black Adidas tracksuit with three white side stripes on the jacket and pants, as well as a black cap with white ICON lettering. The accomplice was wearing dark clothing, with a dark ELLESSE-branded windbreaker.

The Bremen Police are seeking witnesses to the incident and have taken up the investigation. Witnesses with information about the suspects are asked to contact the Criminal Duty Office at 0421 362-3888.
