Transformed Porsche's Slantnose Design into a 1000-HP Carbon Arsenal: Gunther Werks F-26

Gunther Werks Unveils the 1,000-Horsepower Project F-26

Gunther Werks, a renowned automotive design and engineering firm, has unveiled its latest masterpiece at Monterey Car Week - the Project F-26. This stunning reinterpretation of the classic Porsche Slantnose combines the timeless elegance of a bygone era with the raw power and performance of a modern hypercar.

At the heart of the F-26 is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter air-cooled flat-six engine, developed in collaboration with Rothsport Racing. The engine produces a staggering 1,000 horsepower at 7,600 rpm and 750 lb-ft of torque at 5,600 rpm. The power is channeled through a 6-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential, providing a driving experience that is nothing short of exhilarating.

The F-26's exterior is a harmonious blend of classic and contemporary design elements. The widebody proportions and fighter jet-inspired nose create an unmistakable presence, while the rear wing, nearly the size of a picnic table, is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The paint finish resembles liquid mercury, adding to the car's futuristic appeal.

The F-26's body is made primarily of carbon fiber, resulting in a weight of just 2,700 pounds. This lightweight construction, combined with the car's extensive use of modern safety features such as motorsport-grade ABS and advanced traction control, ensures that the F-26 is not only fast but also safe.

The F-26's suspension setup includes double-wishbone front suspension with anti-dive geometry, custom multilink rear, and adaptive JRZ dampers. This setup, along with the extended wheelbase, which is 30mm longer than stock, provides excellent stability at high speeds.

Inside the F-26, you'll find leather upholstery, an Alcantara headliner, exposed carbon fiber trim, and a wooden shift knob. The steering wheel design draws inspiration from fighter jet wing profiles, further emphasizing the car's aggressive design language.

The F-26 is equipped with massive carbon-ceramic brakes (six-piston front, four-piston rear) and Magnesium Turbo Twist monoblock wheels (18×9.5 front, 18×12 rear). The cooling system includes a race-derived flat fan, carbon fiber airbox, redesigned intercooler plenum, and 935-style exhaust with external wastegates.

Gunther Werks is producing only 26 units of this model, each built to customer specifications. The F-26 is a 1,000-horsepower reimagining of the Slantnose, costing $1.57 million. With its powerful engine, sleek design, and modern amenities, the Project F-26 is sure to be a coveted addition to any automotive collection.
