Accident on District Road 5929: Driver Under the Influence of Alcohol

In an unfortunate incident, a 45-year-old driver was involved in an accident on district road 5929 between Hattingen and Emmingen early on Friday morning. The accident occurred around 1:30 a.m.

Initial findings suggest that the driver, who was behind the wheel of a Mercedes Sprinter, lost control of the vehicle and collided with a tree. Remarkably, the driver remained unharmed, but a subsequent breathalyzer test revealed a value of 1.2 per mille, indicating that the driver was under the influence of alcohol.

Police officers who discovered the scene arranged for a blood test and secured the driver's license. The accident site was in the green strip along the road.

The total economic damage to the Sprinter is estimated to be around 50,000 euros. The driver will face charges for driving under the influence.
