Tree strikes car forcefully, driver suffers fatal harm
In the district of Straubing-Bogen, a tragic incident occurred on county road 16 near Kirchroth. According to reports from the local police, a 66-year-old driver lost control of his vehicle and veered off the road, colliding head-on with a tree.
Despite immediate rescue efforts, the man succumbed to his injuries at the accident site. The driver, who hailed from Steinach, was the only individual involved in the accident.
The incident caused a significant disruption, with the affected section of county road 16 being fully closed for approximately two hours. The road reopened following the conclusion of the investigation and cleanup.
The police have confirmed the accident, offering their condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. This unfortunate incident serves as a reminder for all road users to drive responsibly and adhere to road safety rules.
